This set of photographs depicts memories or tales of individuals from the communist era. Some o the images are connected to an individual’s memory, while others draw on the collective memories of the period. One may or may not view these are politically correct.
It is interesting to see how everyone questions “the change” that the Velvet revolution brought; has the post communist era ended, or will it ever really end? During the process of interviewing people, it was very promising to see how, knowing or unknowingly, personal tales were eventually tied to the freedom, from the short of toilet paper to the ban on travelling. This series does not try to differentiate what is good and what is bad, but rather states, ” This is what we will remember”
Here is my piece from the exhibit. It was 21st anniversary of Velvet Revolution in CZ. All of my photographs were shot on Medium Format Film Camera.
